Privacy policy — DailyMeds Reminder

DailyMeds Reminder (package com.delowar.dailymeds) is a personal medicine and dose tracker. This policy describes exactly what the app does with your information.

The short version

What the app stores on your device

The app keeps the following in its own private storage area on the device (a local database file that other apps cannot read):

• the medicines you add: name, strength, form, dose amount, schedule times, course length;
• your dose log: what you marked taken, skipped or missed, and when;
• supply counts and your "ordered" markers;
• your settings: reminder toggles, quiet hours, the "hide names on the lock screen" preference, and whether you have granted notification permission;
• optionally, a name you type for the report you show a clinician.

None of this is encrypted by us beyond the device's own protections (the app sandbox, and the device passcode where enabled).

What leaves your device

One thing, and only when you ask for it:

The doctor's report. When you tap Share on a report screen, the text you see is handed to your phone's own share sheet, and you choose where it goes. The app does not send it anywhere by itself.

Nothing else is transmitted. The app makes no network requests of its own — there is no sync, no backup service, no telemetry. The only link that leaves the app is this policy, which opens in your phone's browser; your browser, not the app, makes that request.

Lock-screen notifications

Reminders appear as notifications so a dose can be logged without opening the app. A reminder names the medicines due at that time, which means the names are visible on your lock screen. If you would rather they were not, turn on Hide names on the lock screen (Reminders → Privacy); the notification then reads "2 doses due" instead.

Permissions the app asks for, and why

• Notifications (Android 13+): to deliver dose reminders. Nothing else uses it.
• Vibration (Android): so a reminder is felt as well as seen.
• Internet (Android): declared by the app framework the app is built on. The app itself does not use it.

The app asks for no access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files, Health Connect or Apple Health.

Backups

If you have your phone's own backup turned on (Android backup to your Google account), that backup may include this app's data, because Android's backup setting for the app permits it. Those backups are controlled by your device and your Google account, not by us. Turning off backups for the app, or deleting your data before backing up, keeps the data out of them.

Your choices

• Hide names on the lock screen — Reminders → Privacy.
• Turn reminders off — Reminders → Medicine; the app still shows what you missed on the Today screen.
• Delete everything — More → Your data → Delete all data. This erases every medicine, dose and setting from the device immediately and cannot be undone. There is no copy anywhere else for us to delete.
• Uninstall the app — also removes all of its data from the device.

Children

The app is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. It stores only what its user types into it, on the user's own device.

Not a medical device

DailyMeds Reminder is a record-keeping and reminder tool. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and nothing in it is medical advice. Always follow the instructions of your prescriber or pharmacist, and never change or stop a medicine because of anything this app shows. If you think you have taken the wrong dose, contact a healthcare professional or your local poisons service.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, this policy will be updated and its version number raised. The version shown here is the one the current app build links to (version 1.0.0).
